Jean-Michel comes from a family of insurance individuals and learnt the broker trade very early. The opportunity of an internship at the Minster Group in London introduces him to English and especially to Anglo-Saxon working methods. After an early career in direct insurance at SMABTP then SADA, the attraction of international and actuarial led him to join SOREMA, the reinsurance subsidiary of GROUPAMA.

Later he joined a Swiss reinsurance company Rhein Rückversichrung, a subsidiary of Baloise Insurance and began to focus on financial reinsurance solutions. From 2001, Jean-Michel returned to reinsurance broking when he joined US RE in Basel, Switzerland. During this tenure he was instrumental is providing innovative reinsurance solutions to his reinsurance clients.

 André started his reinsurance career in 1980 with Anglo Swiss Reinsurance Brokers in Basel, Switzerland. After having initial reinsurance training in London with Lloyd’s brokers and syndicates, he was given the responsibility for the Technical Accounting Department. In this role, he also made significant contributions to the automation of the reinsurance accounting processes. He then evolved into the production and placement function with responsibility for France, Belgium, French-speaking Switzerland and North America.

In 1995, André joined the Swiss National Insurance Group in Basel, Switzerland. He was responsible for the coordination of the Group's outwards reinsurance as well as the internal reinsurance of the subsidiaries. During this tenure which lasted until 2010 he ran off the Group inwards reinsurance portfolio dating back to before 1967, especially with the Lloyd’s syndicates in London.

 In 2011, André changes his career by becoming an independent consultant to brokers, insurers and reinsurers. He is currently active as agent for K Ré in providing insurance, reinsurance and consulting services.

André possesses vast technical international reinsurance experience and a well-developed entrepreneurial spirit.
